Wednesday 20th May

Can you draw a simple circuit that includes a cell, wires and a bulb? Remember to use the correct symbols.

Answers for yesterday’s task:

  1. Battery or cell
  2. Bulb
  3. Wire
  4. Switch (open)
  5. Switch (closed)

Wednesday 13th May

Can you name the different symbols in a circuit diagram?

Answers from yesterday

  1. Will it work? No

It will not work because one of the light bulbs is not attached properly. This means the electricity cannot travelled through the filament so the circuit is incomplete.

2. Will it work? Yes

It will work because both of the light bulbs have a positive and a negative charge. There are two complete circuits.

3. Will it work? No

There is no connection between the two light bulbs. As a result, the circuit is incomplete. In order for the circuit to be complete, there needs to be a wire connecting the two bulbs.

4. Will it work? Yes

It is a complete circuit.

5. Will it work? Yes

It is a complete circuit.

6. Will it work? No

This will not work because the wire is not connected to the battery so the circuit is incomplete.

7. Will it work? No

It will not work because one of the light bulbs is not attached properly. This means the electricity cannot travelled through the filament so the circuit is incomplete.

8. Will it work? No

There is no connection between the light bulbs and the battery As a result, the circuit is incomplete. In order for the circuit to be complete, there needs to be a wire connecting the bulb to the battery.

Wednesday 8th April

Which of these circuit will work and which will not? Have a think about why they would not work as well.

Wednesday 1st April

Last week, you had a think about insulators and conductors. Can you use that to help you answer these questions?

Wednesday 25th March

In science, we were looking at electricity. Insulators and conductors are a very important part of this. Can you find anything in your house that would make an effective conductor?

    1. Morning Cara,
If you’d like, you can design your own timetable for the week.
Make sure you complete the following every day:
      Reading, Maths and Writing
You can add the other subjects in throughout the week!
Make it colourful and then send it in to us, then we can upload it to inspire other children!
