Wow! What a day. The children have shown incredible resilience, perseverance and leadership skills today. We have spent all day climbing a mountain, walking through a mountain inside a mine and climbed up a waterfall inside the mountain. It was tough work but all the children showed real stickability.
This afternoon some of the children went to the beach. We made beach sculptures, skimmed stones, explored, drank hot chocolate and ate ice cream. A tad chilly for a swim and no need for sun cream today.
This morning some of the children familiarised themselves with Plas Dol y Moch by completing an orienteering exercise around the grounds. Later on we took them on the minibus off site gave them some directions and they had to navigate themselves, in teams, back to the centre.
Today, some of the Year 6 children have spent the day in the great outdoors discovering Charlecote Park. We completed a set of challenges, including walking in the same field as deer, throwing and kicking leaves, building a den and finding different types of leaves and seeds. We even got to see what life was like inside the Victorian kitchen and discover the carriages that used to be used to visit the house. Take a look at our pictures below!
Some Year 6 pupils were very excited to recently visit Stratford Upon Avon to see Shakespeare’s theatre and to take part in a workshop with the RSC. Yesterday, back at school, they were also able to watch a live performance of Romeo and Juliet. Today, all the Year 6 pupils have been exploring the story of Romeo and Juliet by choosing different writing and drawing activities. Take a look at their work below!
