We are very excited that our first letters from our pen pals in France have arrived. We are looking forward to writing our own replies!
Last week, Year 6 held a peace evening to celebrate the fact that Coventry is the city of peace and reconciliation and to commemorate the anniversary of the Blitz in Coventry during World War Two. We discussed the experience of the people of Coventry during the war and created our own circle of light. We created peace symbols and are now using some of these ideas to create a stained glass window to replicate the window in Coventry cathedral that we saw during our trip.
We have been learning to up level our writing by using higher level vocabulary and creating interesting expanded noun phrases. This week, we used a zone of relevance to choose our vocabulary and then created expanded noun phrases by using a word wall to help us build up our ideas. We used these to write our description on the night time beach scene from ‘Letters to the Lighthouse’.
This week we are going to take part in a coding challenge! Learning some basic python programming!
