Library Time!

It’s been a busy week for year 6, so we are enjoying some time relaxing in the library.

Pupils from Year 6 and pupils from Germany are starting to create an English and Germany as part of our Comenius work.

Year 6 have been busy practising Let It Go from Frozen as part of our performance for the assembly for the Comenius visitors next week!

Time Machines Part 2!

Our time machines are nearly fully constructed! We are thinking carefully about the different parts, so that we can use technical vocabulary to write a clear explanation of how it works tomorrow.

Filtering Experiments

This afternoon, we tested out different materials to see which would be the most effective material to filter water to make it cleaner. Which was the best one and why?

We finished our adventure stories and Muskaan’s was one of the BEST as she stuck at it, believed she could do it and used her targets! Well done Muskaan!!!

Speed SCRATCH…

All the school has been learning to use SCRATCH a simple programming language devised by MIT! Year 6 had a speedy lesson in some of the simpler functions… Sprite & background design, movement, sounds and ‘talking’. This was the first time Year 6 had ever used Scratch but they work hard to do their BEST in class.

Refugee Roleplay

This afternoon we used the Oxfam refugee role play to imagine what it must be like to be a refugee. This helped us to understand the human effects of a disaster.

Volcanic Sketches

Today we have been using our sketching and shading skills to draw active volcanoes. We picked either a composite, a shield or a cinder cone volcano to draw, which we will be adding colour to next week. We also used geography words to describe parts of our volcano.
